One of Hitchin’s little wedding venue gems, Hitchin Lavender is such a perfect place to hold your DIY wedding, if you are looking for a laidback, natural, back to basics, unique, Tipi weddings. In the summer months the Lavender field attract tourists from far and wide, but if you were hoping to get married in the peak of summer then unfortunately, the fields are only available for weddings between the 30th of May to the 1st Weekend of July. They reopen again in September for a month, by which point the fields would have been harvested by then, so you may not get the purple haze but you would still get the scent!

Lucky for me it is just outside of Hitchin, in the village of Ickleford.

Chilled summer festival weddings! Think Hay bales, street food, awesome music and a great atmosphere, with the light purple hue of the fields as the perfect backdrop, As mentioned, Hitchin Lavender is essentially a field, all be it a rather beautiful one. The Lavender fields are this venues main attraction and they really do offer some unique spots for photos. But they also have some great outhouses and farm buildings that offer some alternative spot for shots.
