AWARD WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY FROM A HITCHIN PHOTOGRAPHER!

I love Hitchin. It’s been my home for 11 years, and one of my favourite things to do is go for a stroll with my camera, grab a coffee (I mean, you can’t live in Hitchin and not love coffee!), and photograph my lovely town. My husband and I often joke that in the summer it feels like we’re on holiday while sipping a spritz in the square. If I could redo my wedding, I’d get married in Hitchin! There’s something special about Hitchin weddings—the mix of character, history, and creativity makes each one feel unique. Every wedding I’ve shot in Hitchin has just felt cool, and I think that’s because it attracts couples who resonate with what’s at the heart of the town. It’s unique, not afraid to do things differently, and absolutely stands out from the ordinary! I’ve been lucky enough to shoot so many weddings in Hitchin, from St Mary’s Church to The Lavender Fields. This page is a mini guide, but mostly just a good excuse to show off my wedding photography from Hitchin weddings!

KIND WORDS

“We worked with Erica across three events for our wedding celebrations and she was simply perfect the entire time.

She is kind, friendly and a joy to be around, by the end of the week she was part of the team and it was sad to say goodbye! All of our guests commented on how much she made them feel at ease.

Her flare for catching those moments that so often go undocumented was the reason we originally booked her, and boy did she deliver.

The photographs she took will forever be treasured and we couldn’t be happier that we got the chance to work with her on such an important milestone (and now we just need an excuse to work with her again!)”

Isabella and Carta – August 2025

WHY YOU SHOULD GET MARRIED IN HITCHIN?

Why You Should Get Married in Hitchin….
If you’re planning a wedding in Hertfordshire, Hitchin is one of the most beautiful and character-filled towns you could choose. As a Hitchin wedding photographer, I’ve seen just how much charm, creativity, and warmth this town brings to every celebration. It’s the perfect setting for couples who want their day to feel relaxed, stylish, and full of personality.
A Town Full of Character – Hitchin blends historic charm with a creative, modern energy. Its cobbled streets, colourful architecture, and independent spirit make it ideal for couples looking for something a little different from the traditional wedding scene. Every corner feels photogenic, which makes it a dream location for natural, documentary-style wedding photography.

Perfect for Laid-Back Weddings – Weddings in Hitchin tend to feel personal and unpretentious. Whether you’re celebrating in a cosy pub, an intimate restaurant, or a rustic barn just outside town, Hitchin has a way of making every wedding feel effortless and genuine.
A Fantastic Food Scene – Hitchin is known for its independent food and drink spots, making it a brilliant place to host a wedding where great food and atmosphere are at the heart of the day. From seasonal menus to locally sourced ingredients, it’s a town that truly caters to food-loving couples.
Easily Accessible, Beautifully Set – Just a short train ride from London but surrounded by rolling Hertfordshire countryside, Hitchin is the perfect blend of convenience and beauty. Guests can explore the town, enjoy a weekend stay, and soak up the relaxed vibe that makes Hitchin weddings so special.
Incredible Backdrops for Photography – From historic buildings to leafy streets and sunlit courtyards, Hitchin offers endless opportunities for stunning wedding photos. It’s a town that lends itself naturally to candid, storytelling photography — the kind that captures real emotion and atmosphere rather than staged poses.
