Contrast looks at the highs and lows of two wedding photographers who run their businesses differently – giving you an honest insight into the pros and cons of their own wedding photography set ups.

Contrast doesn’t just look at the business of wedding photography, it also covers how these two award-winning documentary wedding photographers capture their images. Guiding you through key moments of a wedding day and their different approaches to telling their couples’ stories.

WHO WE ARE?

Rafe and Erica are both wedding photographers based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Between the two of them they have almost 20 years’ experience shooting weddings and have shot over 500 of their own weddings. They have multiple, respected awards between them from Fearless, This Is Reportage, WPJA, Masters of Wedding Photography.

Rafe has appeared on the top 100 lists for both Fearless, Masters and TIR, and won the National Photographer of the Year award in 2020 for the Wedding Business Awards.

Erica was crowned ‘Wedding Photographer of the Year’ at the Eastern Region Wedding Industry Awards 2023, and has repeatedly been featured in the top 100 list from WPJA and This is Reportage Family group. She was named as one of the top 100 photographers in the UK from SLR Lounge and has also had work featured in the prestigious Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize.

HOW THE WORKSHOP IS STRUCTURED

Sat 11th March 2023: A full day of insider info, business nuggets and honesty with a classroom workshop from the comfort of Rafe’s Studio/Home Office in Central Hitchin.

This won’t be a technical workshop, but will explore the practicalities and pros and cons of running two distinctly different wedding photography businesses.

There will be heaps of knowledge shared, including a focus on the dark art of capturing natural moments within the flow of a hectic wedding day. Although there won’t be any live couple shoots, off camera flash or editing tutorials, we will discuss subjects such as how we both approch couple portaits, lighting set ups for dancefloors and so much more!

Naturally, in a small group format there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions throughout.

This unique training opportunity is limited to just a few dates throughout the year and is exclusively available to those delegates who attend the workshop at a cost of £750.
