Last month I was lucky enough to shoot Rebecca and Chris’s wedding. This was the perfect wedding to ease me back into work, the couple were thoroughly loved up and both looked absolutely amazing! The venue was one of my favourites, Offley Place and the sun was shining for us. Now, normally I don’t cry at weddings, especially when I’m the photographer, however this one got me. You could blame my hormones but I think that even the coldest of hearts would have been warmed by this wedding. In the run up to the big day Chris and Rebeca had kept me in the loop with the wedding plans and had informed me that one of their bridesmaid, Chris’s sister was pregnant and due 2 weeks after the wedding. A week before the wedding Rebeca told me Chris’s sister was in hospital, everyone was hoping the baby would arrive safe and sound. The morning of the wedding I was told the baby had been born but they were still in hospital. Rebeca looked gutted when she spoke about this, but they were all hoping that they would get let out, just in time for the wedding. As the service drew closer it seemed unlikely that they would be able to make it, however…..about 30 mins before the service started Chris’s sister arrived, baby in toe, straight out of Hospital. In a dash she was transformed into a stunning bridesmaid and was able to surprise Rebeca when she arrived. I have never seen a bride look so happy just before her wedding. It was a special moment and I felt honoured to have been there to capture it.
Well, it’s almost the end of January and so far this year has been rather eventful for me. A new home, a new town and most exciting, in the next few days we will welcome a new member to our family. I can’t wait to meet our wee man and I apologise now if my blog starts to fill up with baby photos. I will still be shooting weddings and already have some amazing weddings lined up so if you are getting married this year drop me an email and let me know your plans.
Over the next few weeks I won’t be checking my email as often so please give me a couple of days to get back to any enquires you have.
Wow, what a year 2013 has been! I can not express how lucky I feel to have had such a wonderful year with the most amazing couples! 2014 looks set to be a very exciting year for me, with some interesting weddings lined up, a house move in the new year and a little baby to welcome to the family! I still have a few slots available, so if you are planning a wedding for the new year and are looking for a photographer, please get in touch.
Now, time for some mince pies!!
A lovely day from start to finish, I saw many amazing things at this wedding –
1) Nicolas Dress, was absolutely stunning (along with the bride of course!)
2) The most gorgeous bridal flowers EVER!
3) A mum and dad who adore their children with all their heart’s (even when they wont walk down the aisle and cry when you are trying to give a speech).
I was so impressed with Nicolas and Lee’s juggling act between enjoying their big day and making sure their beautiful children were ok. They made it look easy! Nicola and Lee are such a sweet couple and it was a real pleasure to photograph their big day!
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting Adi & Dave’s wonderful wedding. The service was held in Aldenham Church (soon to be on Eastenders!) and the reception was just a short stroll down the road at Aldenham Golf Corse. Abi looked a picture and Dave was a very happy groom! Congratulation Mr & Mrs Coupe, here are a few from the day….
I do love a wedding when there are a few familiar faces around me. Rob is the big brother to one of my best friends which made the family shots nice and easy (for a change!), thanks Jon for the help! Vicky, along with her beautiful daughter Darcy looked stunning and Rob was a very cool groom, if there was any nerves he didn’t show them! It was a great day even the swarm of wasps that decided to hang around during the group shots couldn’t spoil it!
When I first met Nisha and Richard, I thought I may have my work cut out getting a smile on Nisha’s face, as she wasn’t the biggest fan of having her photo taken! But last saturday she spent most of the day with wearing a pretty big grin. This was trumped by Richard who literaly did not stop smiling, with the occasional little happy tear too (proof below!).
A lovely couple who made me giggle lots. Congratulations to you both.
I really enjoyed shooting Bev and Andy’s wedding, held at the stunning ‘New Place’ in Southampton. There were lots of energetic kids to photograph and Poppy their daughter gave me some of the best photo faces I have ever had the pleasure of photographing! The grounds were great too and the sun stayed out for us all day!
